Imogene Maria Dickerson passed away June 22, 2019. She was 103 years old. She is predeceased by her son, Jerauld Lee Dickerson, parents Mr. and Mrs. Clyde E. Wheat Sr. and her siblings Clyde E. Wheat Jr., Clifford Joseph Wheat, Marjorie Wheat Brown, Eva Hilary Hice, Earl Ramon Wheat, Mary Patricia Hantz and daughter-in-law Diane Dickerson. She is survived by her son, James S. Dickerson Jr., daughter, Sharon Maria Dickerson and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Dickerson, Grandchildren, Lisa Dickerson, James S. Dickerson III, Kristi Rose Dickerson, Dr. Maria Teresa Azrad, Anne Marie Brady, Patrick Jerauld Dickerson, Susan Jeanine Dickerson, Dr. Timothy Walter Dickerson, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren, her loving cousins, Joyce Harvilchuck of Gulf Breeze, FL and Mary Conner of Mobile, AL.
Imogene worked 17 years as an LPN at Baptist Hospital. She was a devoted Mother. Cooking and gardening were her passions. She took pride in being a descendant of the first permanent families of Pensacola, the Bonifay, Gonzalez and D’Rochblav families.
The family would like to extend their thanks for excellent, caring help from Regency Hospice, particularly to nurses Tiffany Gardner and Darlene Grogan and social worker, Christine Banks.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mother Theresa Calcutta Mission,6495 Lillian Hwy. Pensacola, FL 32506 or St. Joseph Medical Clinic, 140 W. Government St., Pensacola, FL 32502.
Visitation will be 12:00 noon, Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Waters & Hibbert Funeral Home, with entombment following at Holy Cross Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Alberic Lazerna.
Waters & Hibbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
