The lovely tributes expressed give a picture of a very exceptional young man. Having only known Jack through George & Nancy, we already were sure he was pretty special. This is the sort of Loss we have no answers for, but can be certain Jack has left a positive mark on this world! Love to all the Mitchell's.

As a student in my English class, Jack charmed me. He was wise beyond his years and talented in countless ways. He cannot be replaced in our classroom, but he will be remembered and missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to Jack's family. As one of his teachers I am deeply saddened and his absence will be felt in my classroom. Jack was one of the most cheerful and kind students I've taught. His smile was genuine and it radiated the sweet nature he had. He will be missed.

I've known Jack since 7th or 8th grade but I really got to know him freshman year. We sat by each other in gym and digital pathways. I didn't really know anyone and I've always appreciated how kind Jack was to me and I really looked forward to talking with him and going to study hall where we did our math homework together. Jack was a true loyal friend and I am really going to miss him.

I just found out returning to school yesterday and cannot express in words the sadness and shock that I feel. I am honored to have been Jack's math teacher last year. He was an amazing individual who definitely downplayed his difficulties and always came to class with a smile. I will always remember Jack for his strength and determination to succeed. He will be missed.

I only knew Jack for a short amount of time-for a few days actually- at the Natural Helpers retreat in Junior High. Although I did not know him for long, I was touched by him. Wherever he went, an aura followed him, and I feel like I could have told him anything...a true friend. He had the rare quality of a beautiful soul, and he will be deeply missed.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the entire family. I did not know Jack personally but I do remember his freshman year, he helped me carry boxes to the band room. Dave, Megan, and Jenna,

Words cannot even begin to express how lucky I feel to have known "Jack-Jack". I will always remember him as the kind-hearted young man with the terrific smile who always tried his best at everything he did. It was great to watch him grow from that shy 5th grader to the charming young man he was as a high schooler.

Love to all of you, Carol (and Mike) Dicksen

David, Megan and Jenna, I can't even imagine the loss you are experiencing. Jack was a handsome, happy, funny, intelligent young man who was taken much too soon. Thank you for bringing him into this world for us to have been blessed by knowing him and loving him. And.....To both sets of grandparents (Uncle George and Aunt Nancy and Mr. and Mrs. Narby) how difficult it must be not only to lose such a bright light in your lives, but to also have to watch your own children grieve so deeply. My very deepest condolences and love.

Jack has played one of the largest roles in my youth. Starting from having challenges on who can read a book faster instead of who can make fun of the most people, all the way to helping me with challenging Boy Scout activities. Wish I got the chance to know my previous good friend because he is and always will be a candle to everyone our age. Rest in Peace my friend
