Jacqueline "Bunny" Cremen Keeshan

1936 - 2025

New London, NH – Jacqueline (Bunny) Cremen Keeshan died peacefully on November 12, 2025, at Woodcrest Village in New London, New Hampshire. She was surrounded by her loving family. Bunny was born on December 19, 1936, in Washington, D.C. to Elizabeth Ellen O’Brien. She was adopted and raised by John Francis Cremen and Grace Raffensberger Cremen along with their five children. Bunny grew up in Bethesda, Maryland and attended The Sacred Heart in Washington, D.C. through high school. After spending a year at the University of Michigan, Bunny moved to New York City and worked in retail at Lord & Taylor. She met the love of her life, William (Bill) Francis Keeshan, Jr., in May 1958. They were married on August 30, 1958. They moved to Pennsylvania where Bill was commissioned Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corps. Over a period of five years, Bunny and Bill welcomed their three daughters, Deb, Meg, and Lynn into their home. Bunny and Bill raised their daughters in Darien, Connecticut where lifelong memories and strong family values were created. 

Bunny continued her love of retail working at The Corner House, a clothing boutique, and then at the Harrell Shop in Darien. Bunny earned a certificate in Interior Design and enjoyed helping friends and clients decorate their homes. In addition, she sang with the Blue Notes, volunteered with the Junior League, and was a Girl Scout Troop Leader. Bunny and Bill were avid skiers and sailors. They spent summers at Noroton Yacht Club in Darien and much of the winter in Weston, Vermont until they retired and moved to New London, New Hampshire in 2004. There Bunny volunteered at the John Hay Estate at the Fells “digging in the dirt” and volunteering for special events like Christmas at the Fells. She was active in the New London Garden Club and served as president for two years. Bunny was also a volunteer for P.E.O. Chapter K and was passionate about helping women in need with scholarships for their education. She attended mass at Our Lady of Fatima on Saturday evenings with family. New friendships were formed and the home in New London became a gathering place for her daughters and their families. Bunny was known for her unwavering faith and kind heart, her strong will, gardening and knitting talents, conversation about books, and mostly her devotion to her family and friends. 

Bunny is predeceased by her husband, William Francis Keeshan, Jr. Surviving members include Deborah Keeshan Peirce (David) of Reston, Virginia; Margaret Keeshan McGovern (Brian) of Trumbull, Connecticut and Sunapee, New Hampshire; and Lynn Keeshan of Brookfield, Connecticut. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, all of whom fondly call her Grandma Bunny and love their talks and FaceTime sessions: Sarah Peirce Chisholm and her husband Trent, Hank Peirce, Julia Peirce, William McGovern and his wife Tessa, Peter McGovern, Rebecca Kasarci and her husband Ibrahim, and Mikayla Marques. Bunny was a proud great grandmother of three young boys: Caleb Chisholm (6), Cayde Chisholm (3), and Damon McGovern (1) who now wear the handknit sweaters she made for each grandchild’s birthdays. Bunny leaves a positive imprint on all of their lives. Her spirit will live forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Calling hours will be at Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, New Hampshire, on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. A celebration of Bunny’s life will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 724 Main Street, New London, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
