James “Jim” Osborn Grover was welcomed home to his Lord and Savior on December 16, 2018. Jim was born March 29, 1932 in Robbinsdale, the son of John and Anna (Miller) Grover. He graduated from Pine City High School.
Jim was united in marriage to Mary Jane Ahlbrecht, on August 3, 1957. Together they raised three children. They were long-time residents of Monticello and Princeton. Jim and Mary Jane celebrated 57 years of marriage before her death March 16, 2015.
Jim was an employee of Prudential for 31 years. He was a veteran, serving in the Korean War. Jim was an avid gardener and bird watcher. Jim enjoyed the adventure of blueberry picking. Most of all, Jim enjoyed spending time with family.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory is his children: Tony (Carol) Grover of Zimmerman, Kelly (Mike) Nitz of Big Lake and Jim (Melissa) Grover of Baxter. Grandchildren: Wally (Lexi) Dunning, Crystal (John) Schwartz, Joe (Samantha) Grover, Micki Grover, TJ Grover, Kevin (Brooke) Nitz, Ryan Nitz and Thomas Grover. Five great grandsons: Crosby & Wilson Dunning, Noah & Benjamin Schwartz and Vern Grover. Jim is also survived by his brother Denny and sister Laura (Lawrence) Chalupsky. His parents, wife and five siblings preceded him in death.
The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Benedicts and CentraCare Hospice for their excellent care. A private service will follow at a later date.
