James Hannum Obituary
James Edward Hannum, 82, formerly of Mt. Alto, WV passed away January 30, 2026 at his home in the Eastern Panhandle of WV following an extended illness.
He was born June 13, 1943, in Letart, WV, a son of the late Charles E. and Sarah E. (Blessing) Hannum. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, James E. Hannum Jr.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was wounded in combat. He retired from the aggregate industry with 28 years of service.
Survivors include his wife Karyn Hannum; son, Mikel Hannum; brothers, Charles Dane (Carole) Hannum and Robert D. (Joyce) Hannum
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. ~ Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV. Private burial will follow the service in Letart-Evergreen Cemetery, Letart, WV. Military rites will be given by the Jackson County Honor Guard at the beginning of the service at the funeral home.
