James Hodges, Sr. Obituary
James Allen Hodges Sr. passed away peacefully on September 11, 2020 at his home in Bluefield, WV at the age of 55.
Born February 12, 1965 in Bluefield, WV James was the son of Ray Hodges and Lucy O'donnell. He was preceeded in death by his father, Ray Hodges, brother Doug Hodges, brother Ronnie Hodges, nephew Ronnie Ray Hodges Jr., and his special four-legged companions Princess and Precious.
James enjoyed being in the company of family and friends. He loved spending time with his fur babies Sissy, Jade, and Bo. In his spare time, he loved working on cars, watching racing and westerns, and attending car shows.
James is survived by his Mother, Lucy Hodges; daughter, Kasey Hodges; son, James Hodges Jr. and wife Ashley; sister Deborah Phelps and Mack; sister Kathy Price and James; brother Robert Hodges and Tammy; sister-in-laws Sue Hodges and Dorothy Hodges; special friends Marsha Childers and Mason Dalton; great-nephew who was viewed more as a son Jason Dillon Jr.; and a host of other dearly loved nieces and one nephew and great-nieces and great-nephews. His family remembers him as a loving and generous man who enjoyed a good laugh. He was loved by everyone and made an impact on anyone he met.
Family will receive guests on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 12:00-1:00 pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with funeral services following at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Mark Pennington will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. All are welcome to come and celebrate James' life.

Uncle James, where do even begin. You have been in my life always. There are so many wonderful memories I have of you. They are so full of love and laughter. You have been there in the good times and the bad. You made this family such a awesome place to belong. Everyone loved you so much. You were such a treasure. I do not believe you ever knew how much your were truly loved, and by how many. Will you please give my daddy and Ronnie Ray a extra long, tight hug from me.
