James A. Liolis, 59, longtime resident of Concord, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 28, 2025 at his home in Naples, FL.
Jim was born on April 27, 1965 in Concord, NH, the son of Nick Liolis of Franklin and Nicki (Mamos) Liolis of Concord. He attended Concord High School and graduated in 1983, where he played on the Varsity tennis team and ran cross country. After graduation, he attended NHTI and the University of New Hampshire.
Early on, Jim was the manager of the Rumford Market in Concord for 15 years. For the past 10 years, he had been a certified liquor sales associate at Publix Liquors and a sales associate at Publix Super Market in Marco Island, FL. Over the course of his life, Jim had always worked in sales and retail for several companies where he had the opportunity to engage with the public. Throughout his conversations with co-workers and customers, Jim always had a gift for genuinely connecting with them on a personal level.
While in Florida, Jim became a United States Professional Tennis Association certified tennis instructor and taught lessons there. He also played tennis competitively in numerous singles and doubles tournaments. He was passionate about watching college and professional sports and he was an avid Boston sports fan.
Jim was caring, funny, spirited and charismatic. Those who knew him best would say he had a heart of gold and was a lot of fun to be around. He loved his family and friends unconditionally and he made everyone around him feel special. Even from afar, Jim was always checking in with his loved ones to chat, reminisce, show support and make them laugh. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him well.
In addition to his parents, Jim is survived by his sister, Laura Prewitt and her husband Jon of Webster, NH; a nephew, Jack Prewitt of Portsmouth and niece, Alexa Prewitt of Webster; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jim was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Urania Liolis, and his maternal grandmother Katherine Mamos.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 10th from 4 to 7 PM at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 11th at 10 AM at the Holy Trinity Church, 68 North State Street, Concord.
Burial will follow in the Blossom Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim’s memory to the American Heart Association

Jimbo/numero- you were and will always be awesome buddy. You were the one that told me to count your blessings every single day. Now, you happened to be on the wrong end this time. It’s impossible to forget you. I always struggled with being unhappy at work but when I saw you walk in, you gave me hope for a better day, even for the moment. You will always be an inspiration to me because you showed me that my life is more important than our workplace. I will miss you so much buddy . Rest in peace numero! Love, Mike
