James Roger MaxwellBorn in Adams County, OH on Jan 25, 1940Departed on Nov 9, 2025 and resided in Sugar Land, TXMaster Sergeant James Roger Maxwell, United Air Force (Ret) of Sugar Land, Texas died November 9th, 2025. He was the eldest son born to James and Frances (Sellman) Maxwell on January 25, 1940.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Eileen Boldman Maxwell, sisters Evelyn Marie Maxwell, Phyllis Pearl Maxwell (Burba), Patricia Jane (Maxwell) Smith, and a brother Robert Wesley Maxwell.James was a U. S Air Force veteran with over 22 years of service (Active and Reserve) and was a Vietnam Veteran having served a tour of duty in Southeast Asia in 1966 and 1967. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He also retired from the Federal Government with over 32 years of service. James was a Charter Member of the Trinity Global Methodist Church in Sugar Land Texas.He is survived by a daughter, Yvette and husband Rolfe Young, Granddaughters Emily and husband Bryan Nguyen, Allison and husband Cody Gore, Great-Granddaughter Wrenley Kate Gore and Great-Grandson Ryder Wayne Gore. Also, special friends Brenda Westfall, Amy & Tom Young, Debbie Grenier and Hailey Breznik.A celebration of life will be held in Sugar Land, Texas. Burial with full military honors will be held at Coss Cemetery in Belfast, Ohio. Arrangements are pending.
