JAMES McDERMOTT Jr. Obituary
James C. McDermott Jr., died Nov. 13, 2010, at Valley West Community Hospital, Sandwich, Ill.
He was born April 26, 1928, the son of James McDermott and Celina (Guilbanl) McDermott. He had two children, Gary McDermott and Deborah Miller, both of Pennsylvania.
Jim worked at Turner Brass in Sycamore, and, later in his life, enjoyed caring for numerous stray cats in his neighborhood. He loved sports, especially baseball and softball, supporting many local Little League and softball teams. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan.
Jim is survived by his children; and his brothers, Patrick McDermott of California, Henry (Maxine) McDermott of Rochelle and Leo (Marilee) McDermott of DeKalb.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.
The graveside service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, at St. Mary's Cemetery, DeKalb.
