Laurelton Memorial Funeral Home, 109 Pier Avenue, Brick, NJJames Andrew Vittor, 83, died Friday, December 30, 2016, at Ocean Medical Center, following a brief illness.He leaves behind his two children, Jim Vittor and fiance Cristina of East Windsor, NJ, and Laura Migliore and husband Vinnie of South River, NJ. He also leaves three grandchildren, Justin Raab (27), Zachary Vittor (25) and Gabrielle Vittor (18).Mr. Vittor was one of six siblings, all in their 80's as well, including Katherine (Kitty) Richter, Rosie Venittelli, Lillian Caswell, Thomas Vittor and Roberta Schraeder.Born in Plainfield, NJ, Mr. Vittor would go on to serve his country for eight years in the branch of the Marines, and was a veteran of the Korean War. Post-service, he raised his family in Edison, NJ and worked for Revlon for over 30 years in a management capacity. Maintaining an energy and zest for activity far beyond retirement, he then worked 10 years at Lenox and also ran a flea market stand well into his 80's.Mr. Vittor was seen by all as a gentle, quiet, easy-going man who never had a bad word to say about anyone. One of his favorite sayings was "so what?" which was his way of saying he refused to let life's ups and downs get to him. He was loved by all who knew him.A Memorial service will be held in his honor on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 12:30 at BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 14 Chesterfield Arneytown RD, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
