Jamont Wilson Obituary

On September 30th, 2015, Jamont David Wilson was called home by his mother and Jesus. He leaves behind his father and best friend Earnest Ralph Wilson of Lompoc, California. He is survived by his siblings Savita Carothers (Trent) and Dorien Wilson (JoAnn) of Los Angeles, California and was a loving uncle to Sarita and Devin Wilson of Los Angeles. He also leaves behind numerous cousins from New York and his extended family, the Chism family of Lompoc. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother Margaret Marie Wilson.

Jamont was born on October 9, 1967 in Pleasantville, New Jersey. He was the youngest of three siblings and a graduate from Lompoc Senior High School.

His father's love of golf motivated him to take a job at Marshalia Ranch Golf course at Vandenberg AFB. He was a dedicated senior level groundskeeper for the past 25 years and loved learning new techniques for golf course management. He was once asked if he liked his work and his answer was quite unique. "I know dad loves to play the course, and this is my way of making sure he has a good time." That was the type of person he was. His family was his center. He loved his niece Sarita and nephew Devin as if they were his own children.

Even though he was tall in stature, Jamont was a shy and quiet person with an even keeled disposition. He was always willing to help people in any way he could. He had many hobbies over the years. He loved to cook and was such an avid watch collector that he took his role as moderator for Invicta watch enthusiast forums very seriously.

Jamont's passing was too sudden for us. If we had our way, this gentle giant would be with us forever. Jamont, son, brother, your deep love and kindness will be missed. We love you. Our hearts will never be the same…never.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 9th, 2015 at the Chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with a repast afterwards.

Such sad and shocking news. God Bless and keep the Wilson family extra close through this holiday season. Jamont was an amazing friend to my sister Betsy and I have found memories of his visit to Connecticut. To the Wilson family-please take care of one another. I can't even imagine the tremendous void your family must be experiencing. Sincerely, Kellie

Oh my goodness, what can I say? I am completely shocked by Jamont's sudden passing! I just saw him downtown last week. We were behind him in traffic and I got a smile on my face when I read his personalized license plate. It always brought a smile to my face because it reminded me "Hey, I know him and he is a great guy!" Jamont was a dear Friend to my Brother, Daniel, over many years. What a kind, gentle being this man was.

To Jamont's Beloved Family, we are so very, very sorry for this huge loss to your family. We extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences to you all.

With Much Love and Heartfelt Sympathy,

Daniel and Karen Williams

It's hard to understand why our loved ones are taken from us, but when God calls them home we are gifted with beautiful memories. One of my favorite memories of Jamont was his infectious smile and hearty laugh. It was rare that laugh didn't accompany his smile.

Jamont I will miss you!!!
