Janice Keller Tilley was born on May 26, 1957, to the union of Louis and Minnie B. Keller in New Orleans, Louisiana. She peacefully departed this life on March 21, 2025.
Janice was a proud 1975 graduate of Capitol High School. She dedicated over 30 years of service to the State of Louisiana before retiring. A devoted and hardworking employee, she always graced others with her warmth and presence. To know her was to love her. More than a wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, she embodied the true spirit of a God-fearing woman.
Janice accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. She was an active and faithful member of Faith Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where she served in numerous roles with dedication and love.
In December 1978, Janice married the love of her life, Sylvester “Tooterman” Tilley II. Their marriage of 41 years was filled with love and devotion until his passing in June 2020. Together, they built a beautiful family, including their beloved children, Jessica and Blake, who were the center of their world.
Janice was known for her impeccable style, always keeping her hair, nails, and makeup flawless. A true fashionista, she had a generous spirit and never hesitated to help others. She never met a stranger and was known for her lively personality, always ready for a late-night chat.
Janice leaves to cherish her precious memories: her daughter, Jessica Tilley-Wright, and son-in-law, Damien “Mond” Wright, her beloved granddaughter, Jaycee Milan Wright, all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; her sisters, Joann K. Pryor and Yvette Keller of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; her brothers, James Keller, Henry Keller, and Napoleon (Felicia) Keller, all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and dear friends who loved her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Sylvester “Tooterman” Tilley II; her cherished son, Blake Tilley; her parents, Louis and Minnie B. Keller; her brothers, Louis "June" Keller III and Lt. Leo Keller; her niece, Stacy Hampton; her nephews, Joseph Tatney Jr. and Travis Stevenson and her sisters-in-law, Joann T. Morgan and Alice Seales.
Janice’s love, kindness, and unwavering faith will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
The Tilley Family and the Management and Staff of Wilson Wooddale appreciate and thank you for the many kindnesses shown to them as they navigate the passing of their loved one.
