Janice S. Sausman 

Age 88 passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025. She was born on November 19, 1937, in Gary, Indiana to the late Anthony E. and Sigrid A. (nee Matson) Zula. Janice married the love of her life Terry D. Sausman at St. Frances Church in Lake Station. Janice was a devoted and hardworking woman who enjoyed doing crafts and spent her career serving others. She retired from CNA in Chicago Ill, where she worked as an administrative assistant offering care, comfort, and kindness to those who needed it most. Even in retirement, her dedication to helping others continued she volunteered at Yuma Medical Center in Yuma, Arizonia, where she gave her time and compassion to patients. Janice touched many lives through her work and her service.

She is survived by her two sons, Terry A. (Linda) Sausman and Todd A. (Jaclyn Blitzstein) Sausman; daughter, Robin J. (Chris) Moore; two grandchildren, Bill Ogle and Casey Sausman and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Terry D. Sausman, her father, Anthony E. Zula and mother, Sigrid Zula.

Per Janice’s wishes there will be a celebration of life held at a later date. Burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery also at a later date.  Cremation is entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368.
