Jason A. AuClair, 48 of Oswego died Monday September 22, 2025 at his home in Oswego, NY.
He was born in Oswego and was the son of Marcia AuClair and his step-father William Schlaffer of Geneva. Jason was born February 20, 1977.
Jason was a life resident of Oswego and was a graduate of the Oswego High School.
Jason had a nickname that everyone knew him by, “Doghair” Jason loved sports, including NASCAR races. He loved our trips to Myrtle Beach. He played Oswego Little League. He also played basketball. The Las Vegas Raiders were his favorite football team. He began following them when they were in Oakland because they were his Mom’s favorite team. He also loved the Boston Celtics and the Boston Red Sox. They quickly became his favorite after a visit to Boston with his Mom. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, playing cribbage and poker.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by, one daughter Julianna AuClair, one son Jason “JJ” AuClair both of Victor, one brother and sister-in-law Joshua and Chantel AuClair, one sister and brother-in-law Harley AuClair and Alexis Donato-Rivera both of Geneva, their son Elias Donato-Rivera of Geneva, his step-sister Jamie Schlaffer of Texas and step-brother Ryan and Desiree Schlaffer of Oswego, his Uncle and Aunt David and Brenda AuClair and their daughters Michaela AuClair-Cushman, her husband Kyle and their daughter Juliet and Jada AuClair and her daughter Rosalyn. Jason also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jason was predeceased by his Grandparents with whom he had a very special relationship Melvin (Boogie) and Hazel AuClair.
Jason worked for Labor Local 214, he was a blackjack dealer at the Turning Stone Casino and was a lead for CRAL Contracting, Inc
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date for friends and family.
Arrangements in charge of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home are pending.
