Jason R. Behenna, recently of Marlborough, passed on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, at the age of 50. He is survived by his father Robert, mother Maria (formally DiPinto) of Everett, and his sister Jacquelyn Behenna (Stacy Giggie) of Reading. He is also survived by his uncles, Donald Behenna (Diane) of Navarre, FL; Salvatore DiPinto (Lisa Mastracola) of Stoneham; and Ralph DiPinto (Marybeth) of Kingston, NH. He leaves behind many cousins, including Aimee Behenna, Edward Behenna, Eric Venditelli, and Christopher DiPinto, as well as numerous dear relatives, friends, and colleagues.
Jason was raised in Everett, MA, attending Everett Public Schools and Malden Catholic High School. He graduated from University of Southern California with degrees in Political Science and Journalism. Jason was drawn into the sports communication field early on at USC, hosting a radio talk show, and then working for ABC Sports. His career as a Sports Information Director brought him to Louisiana, Washington, Vermont, New Hampshire, and then finally back home to Massachusetts. For the last seven years, Jason worked as the Sports Information Director at Regis College, where he found his second family.
Jason loved all sports. When he wasn’t working as a SID, he was attending PGA and World Cup matches, watching all his favorite Boston sports teams, competing (and winning) ESPN’s “2-Minute Drill”, and, just this past July, played in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
Jason will be missed by all who knew him. His time with us was cut much too short, but his impact was far-reaching. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jason’s memory to Malden Catholic High School, 99 Crescent Street, Malden MA 02148.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation at the JF Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett, MA on Sunday, November 24th, from 12 pm to 4 pm with a prayer service at 3:30 pm.

I worked at Regis College for 27 years and knew Jason to be kind and caring person. I attended the Regis Golf Tournament every year and he was always there taking photo’s and greeting all who played in the event.
I’m a 1965 SMA alum and graduated with his father.
I’m so sorry for your loss,
And my thought and prayers go out to you and your family.

Jason gone too soon is an understatement of this particular situation!! We are and always will be, amazed at your ability to maintain such a wealth of sports knowledge with total recall and always right on point!! Your endless caring for all your family, as well as the strong and respectful way you shared your knowledge with family, coworkers and friends speakes volumes about you as an individual, mentor, and Nephew who will be missed by any and all fortunate enough to really know you!! Our heartfelt condolences to Bobby, Maria, Jackie & Stacy!! He was surely one of a kind !!

I was blessed to work with Jason as I serve as the Faculty Athletic Representative at Regis College. He was so incredibly kind, humble and hardworking. His love for our student-athletes was amazing, and they loved him. I will miss him dearly. It will not be the same without him. May he sleep peacefully with the angels.
