Jason Allen Whitehead, Sr.

1976 - 2023

Jason Allen Whitehead, Sr., 47, of Bledsoe passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard with his family by his side. Born January 8, 1976 in Harlan County, he was a coal miner and avid hunter and loved spending time with his family especially his grandson and believed in the Pentecostal faith.

        He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Jean Ray Whitehead; his grandparents, John and Bertha Ray; and Rosa and Leslie Whitehead, Sr.

        Jason is survived by his father, Leslie Whitehead, Jr., Bledsoe; two children, Jason Whitehead, Jr. and wife, Trisha, Coxton; and Jesse Lee Whitehead and wife, Brooklyn, Putney; and one grandchild, Lucas Jason Whitehead, Coxton. Also surviving are a host of aunts and uncles and other dear friends.

        Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the Bledsoe Pentecostal Church.

        Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2023, at the church with the Reverend Travis Gross officiating.

        Burial will be in the Leslie Whitehead Cemetery in Spruce Pine Hollow with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
