Jasper E. Acosta, a beloved son, brother, father, tio, husband, grandfather and friend passed away on January 7, 2026, at the age of 55. Born on December 19, 1970, in El Paso, Texas, Jasper was the cherished son of Socorro Escobedo and Lalo Acosta. He grew up with a strong work ethic and a generous heart, qualities that guided him throughout his life and career as a dedicated mechanic.
Jasper’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving spouse, Cathleen Marquez, and his children: Jasper Acosta Jr., Mario Acosta, Michael Acosta, Ezekiel Acosta, Destiny Acosta, Angelica Acosta, Alex Chavez, Sabrina Mendez, Mike Mendez, Sabrina Saenz, Naomi Saenz, Sammy Saenz, and Jasmine Monasco. He also leaves behind his sisters Clarissa Acosta (Rudy Zapata) and Valerie Acosta, as well as a special aunt, Victoria Escobedo, who held a meaningful place in his life.Jasper’s legacy continues through his 21 grandchildren, 11 nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. All of whom brought him immense pride and happiness. His presence, guidance, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, brother Abraham Acosta, nephews Julian Romo and Abraham Acosta Jr., grandchild Julian Acosta, and son Marcos Acosta.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, located at 1240 S. Espina Street. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M., followed by the Celebration of the Mass at 11:00 A.M. Interment and the Rite of Committal will conclude at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 100 N. Espina Street.
Serving as casket bearers are Jasper Acosta Jr., Mario Acosta, Michael Acosta, Ezekiel Acosta, Joel De Luna, Ruben Romo, Javier Acosta, and Sabrina Saenz. Honorary bearers include Alex Chavez, Mike Mendez, Sabrina Mendez, Destiny Acosta, Angelica Acosta, Naomi Saenz,, and Jasmine Monasco
Jasper will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his hardworking spirit, and the warmth he brought into every room. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
