Jeannette M. Border, 89, of Dresden, Ohio, died Tuesday morning, September 9, 2025, at Adams Lane Care Center, Zanesville, Ohio.
Born December 21, 1935, in Coshocton, Ohio, a daughter of the late David and Francis (Snyder) Croy and a 1953 graduate of Jefferson High School. Jeannette was a faithful member of Muskingum Church and enjoyed her grandchildren.
Surviving is her husband of 71 years, Gary R. Border, whom she married December 19, 1953; two sons, Doug (Kay) Border and Greg (Tammy) Border; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Yochum and Marilyn Brown; and two sisters-in-law, Dottie Schultheis and Nancy Border.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Betty McCullough, Mary Anne Kinneer, Patsy Fry and Sandy Adkin.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Genesis-Hospice Morrison House, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville or Muskingum Church, 4545 Gorsuch Road, Nashport, Ohio 43830.
The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the staff at Brookdale, Adams Lane Care Center and Genesis Hospice for the exceptional care provided to Jeannette.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am with an hour of visitation from 10:00am-11:00am, Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Muskingum Church, 4545 Gorsuch Road, Nashport, Ohio 43830.
Jeannette will be in laid to rest at Muskingum Church Cemetery, Nashport.

Jeannette was such a fun lady- I saw her frequently at the Scotties Den when my dad and I had lunch. She held our daughter when she was newborn, and celebrated our son's 3rd birthday, all while having lunch. She was so very sweet. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I was saddened to read of Jeannette’s passing
but it also reminded me of all the wonderful memories of my friendship with Doug during our high school days and beyond
Jeannette and Gary were always welcoming when stopping by even though they probably wondered what we were up to
