Our Pepsi drinking, Elvis loving Momma has reunited with her dancing partner in the stars! Jeannie Louise Mead Cox, 76 of Archer City gained her wings on May 18, 2025.
Graveside services to celebrate Jeannie’s life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Archer City Cemetery with Jon Curry, Pastor of Grace Community Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Jeannie was born on June 27, 1948, in Hugoton, Kansas to the late George and Mary (Wilmut) Mead.
Jeannie met the love of her life, Richard Lee Cox, and they were married in New Mexico on November 21, 1964. Jeannie and Richard moved their family to Texas in 1972 where they raised their four children. Jeannie loved all things Elvis and Pepsi. You would never see her out without an article of clothing, purse, shoes or earrings that didn’t have Elvis on them or a Pepsi in her hand.
Jeannie is survived by her children; Roma and Scottie Wilson of Archer City, Texas; Rebecca Bales of Archer City, Texas; Rhoda and Grady Schenk, Jr of Scotland, Texas; and Richard and Jodie Cox of Arlington, Texas; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren with one on the way; her sister, Roberta Turnbow of Archer City, Texas; three nieces, one great-niece; two nephews and seven great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to support Alzheimer’s research by donating to The Alzheimer’s Organization to help find a cure to end this horrible disease. #dementiasucks or to Hospice of Wichita Falls, a wonderful caring organization, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.

Sympathy for all of Jeannie’s family. I remember her from the days when Richard was my student in 5th grade at Windthorst. She was a very kind and loving mother. May God bless all of her family and friends.
