Jesus Herrera Sr. Obituary
Jesus Jose Herrera Sr., age 79, passed away in Jourdanton on Sunday, July 10, 2022. He was born in Poteet, on Wednesday, October 14, 1942 to Concepcion and Juanita (Munoz) Herrera.
Jesus is survived by his sons, Jesse J. Herrera Jr. and wife Dianne, Fabian Herrera and wife Yolanda, and Oscar Herrera and wife Alma; daughters, Rosemary Garcia and husband Fred Guajardo, Angie Martinez and husband Jimmy, Irma Herrera Carrasco and husband Chris, and Jennifer Lynn Gutierrez and husband Carlos, and sister, Ninfa Padilla and husband Pedro Jr. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
Jesus was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Y. Herrera; parents, Concepcion and Juanita Herrera; son, Samuel Herrera; grandchildren, Clemente Garcia Jr., Alyson Yvette Hetzer, and Justin Paul Fernandez; brothers and sisters, Juanita Ramirez, Catalina Herrera, Fidencio Herrera Sr., Concepcion Herrera Jr., and Dominga Herrera.
Serving as pallbearers for the service are, Samuel J. Herrera, Brandon J. Herrera, Jimmy Solis Jr., Jimmy Martinez Jr., Roger Guerra III and Derek J. Lozano; and Honorary pallbearers are, Cassandra Gutierrez, Victoria Herrera, Daciañ Gutierrez, Brittany Herrera, Kandace Martinez, Jaime Solis, Raquel Guajardo, and Blair Roth.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Interment to follow in Madre Dolorosa Cemetery #1.
