Joan A. Murray

Joan A. Murray, age 85, Beloved wife of the late Robert; Loving mother of David (Natalie Callander), Debra Murray, William (Colleen) Murray, Leanne Grage, Lori (Rick) Krakora; Proud Grandmother of Nathan (Claire) Murray, Kyle Grage, Jason Murray, Zachary (Lauren) Murray, Casey (Daniel) Dreste, Danielle Murray, Eric (Lacy) Murray, Jonathan Murray, Ly Krakora, Melissa Murray, Harrison Krakora; Cherished Great Grandmother of Liam Murray, Nora Murray, Emerson Dreste and Owen Murray.  

Joan was born in November 1940 to Elmer Petersen and Alice Woodgate in Chicago, Illinois.  As a young woman she met and married her late husband Robert in May of 1958.  They set down roots in Niles where they raised their family.  There are so many memories and experiences where Joan was the center of it all.  Those memories capture the essence of who Joan was.  Joan’s vibrant spirit, kindness, laughter and heart touched the lives of all who knew her.  Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will remain in every life she touched.

Visitation is Friday, December 12 between 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Niles. Her Funeral Service on Saturday, December 13 will be at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home at 11:30 am.
