Joaquim Antonio

1933 - 2026

Chicopee- Joaquim Antonio, 92, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026.  A son to the late Manuel Antonio and Joaquina Narciso, Joaquim was born in Alcobaca, Portugal, and immigrated to the United States in 1974, and has lived in Chicopee for 52 years.  He worked more recently as a baker at Bernadino’s Bakery, in Chicopee, and previously as a machine operator at Tool Craft.  He leaves his beloved wife of 66 years, Aida S. (Pereira) Antonio, as well as his sons, Antonio Pereira and his wife, Alzira, of Chicopee, Helder Pereira and his wife, Anabela, of Portugal, as well as his grandsons, Adam and Aaron Pereira and his great-grandchildren, Lucas, Emma, and Lila.  In addition to his parents, Joaquim was also predeceased by his brothers, Antonio Manuel and Jose Antonio, and a sister, Alexandrina Narciso.  Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours from 9:00 to 10:15am on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee, MA.  His Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am in Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA, with burial immediately following the Mass in Calvary Cemetery.
