John Paul Denneen, 84, died Thursday, May 29, 2025 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO. A native New Yorker, John grew up in the Bronx and graduated high school from Fordham Prep in 1958. He worked full time while attending college at night, graduating from Fordham University in 1963 and then Columbia Law School in 1966. In 1965 John married Mary Veronica Murphy and lovingly raised six children with her in East Northport, NY, Wilton, CT and St. Louis, MO., cultivating many friendships in each of those places. John practiced corporate law for over 36 years in both private practice and as in-house counsel. During that time, he worked in a number of senior roles, including as General Counsel of GK Technologies, Chromalloy Corporation and Nuvox and as a Partner of Bryan Cave. John was an avid fisherman, enjoyed skiing and was an enthusiastic fan and season ticket holder of the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues. John loved to travel with his family to his favorite destinations, Boca Grande, Florida, Keystone, Colorado and Cape May, NJ. He ultimately spent much of his retired years in Boca Grande where he had many friends.

He is survived by his five living children, John Denneen (wife Shin), Tom Denneen (wife Erin), Bob Denneen, Dan Denneen and Mary Beth Denneen Ugalde (husband Steven), his nine grandchildren, Jack, Carley, Elizabeth, Patrick, Christopher, Abby, Emma, Joel and Aidan, his sister Mary Jane and many nieces and nephews.
