I am sorry to hear about the passing of one of the lifelong farmers and legends of his community. JC loved his family and friends, lived his life honestly, and was loved by all who knew him. He leaves boots behind, caked with mud, that will be unable to be filled. May the hole in your hearts be filled with wonderful memories and God's blessings.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. The beautiful, warm heartfelt tributes to JC are filled with love and are touching. I had the honor of meeting Mr. Field III with his devoted, loving wife Mrs. Field at CINJ. I am blessed to have met a brave, kind, gentle , loving man and his wife who taught me about bravery, fighting for one more day, hardworking, loving, kind, a warm smile, and humor makes others feel special and welcomed into their journey. Mr. Field you made us feel that way each visit with your loving wife by your side.
I am so honored to have met you both and pray for your family . May God's grace, strength, love surround you all with healing and peace.
REST IN PEACE JOHN C FIELD III.

Linda, Marcy, Melissa, Megan, I am so sorry for your loss. JC was a kind and caring person who loved his family. JC loved farming, and I learned a lot from him during all the days we worked together in his shop. I enjoyed helping him on his Farm. I have fond memories of our trips to Tractor Supply and our lunches at Phil's. JC always put the beef stew in the back of his truck to cool off because he always said it was "Too damn hot to eat. Once we got back to the shop it would be just right." He was a wonderful friend to me and he will be greatly missed, but NEVER FORGOTTEN. May he rest in peace and farm The Fields of Heaven.

JC was like a member of our family. Always kind, generous, considerate , warm and friendly. I recall when Pheasant Hill Farm was an active farm, and even toward the end of his earthly life, it was always great seeing his legacy white pickup pull into the driveway as he was passing the home. Always just a friendly hello and some great farm talk. Oh how we need genuine people like JC today! JC, you are greatly missed. Clearly this is not good-bye, simply good night for the moment. Imlaystown-Herbert Roads will never be the same without you!

I was so sorry to learn about JC's passing. I have thousands of childhood memories and shared experiences. He was a very good friend. We used to ride bikes from Hightstown to his farm where we would work and play. We would cut new trails in the woods, try to get the Jeep stuck so we could pull it out with a tractor, move irrigation pipe in potato fields, drink real root beer that his grandmother made from scratch, throw tomatoes at each other when they converted to that cash crop, go bird hunting with his German Short Haired Pointer, Susie, tend to Bassett Hound, Maggie's, pups, take target practice, ride his motorcycle along the headlands, swing through the Herbert's hay barn on ropes, and countless hours in Hightstown playing "army", football, climbing trees and hanging out. A very fine soul indeed. Fond memories.

To the family of cousin JC: I am sorry for your loss. I will remember JC as gregarious and kind. He was devoted to mother and to the farm, always. I remember the births of Melissa and Megan, and although we never connected later-in-life, I know that he was a great father. I am glad his suffering is over and trust that he is in the loving arms of his mom and dad. Sending my love to Linda, I know your heart is broken. With love, Barbara (Jean)

I worked with JC at Monmouth Park for many years. He was always at home in one of the John Deere tractors doing laps around the the track. He was a good friend, and I enjoyed visiting him on his farm where he would proudly show his garage/workshop where he would perform his “Magic”. We will all miss him but not forget him. Linda you are in our thoughts and prayers. Tim

They don't get much better then JC, learned a thing or two from him the four summers I worked on the farm. Always good for a few laughs after work and few beers. As the years passed it was always good to run into him and chat... And catch up. My thoughts to Linda and family, may be rest easy..
