Just discovered this sad news. John and I were great friends in OS “A” school in 1993 right out of boot camp. We went out separate ways after receiving our orders for ship assignments and I lost touch w/ him. He and I had so many fun times and laughs together. No idea what happened, just know he will be greatly missed. May he RIP.

So sad to read this. John was my 1st boyfriend back in San Antonio way back in the 80s. He popped in my head today and I did a Google search for his name. Unfortunately, I found this obituary. Prayers for his family.

John Flores best LPO, friend, mentor, anyone could ever ask for. He was my introduction into the Navy and I don't know how many times he bailed me out of some tough situations and kept me from making "destructive desicions". This picture below was taken the day before he left the Stethem for retirement and until the last day he was putting in work "lagging" with us when he could've easily opted to stay behind or very well like many do in his position rack it out. He believed in everything he did and was the best at what he did hands down. Words can't express how much of an impact he had in our lives but rest assured brother you will be forever missed, and we will continue to honor your legacy. Hooooyahhh OS1, we got it brother, RIP!
