I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. I had the pleasure of working with John for many years at Becker. I am the account manager that covers Minnesota and helped in the live classes John taught. He was loved by the students and always willing to help them succeed. And when he talked about his family his faced lit up with love. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

Temple, So very saddened and shocked to see John's obituary today. In the short time your family lived across the street in Lakeville I knew John to be a kind man and the love you shared was apparent. My thoughts are with you and your children as you navigate through this sad journey of grief.

I met John while prepping for the CPA exam and he was the instructor for Becker. I later went to work for him at Highland Bank. In every interaction with him, he showed that he genuinely cared about you both personally and professionally. He was truly great mentor to me and I'm sure countless others. The model boss, father, and husband to emulate. Deepest sympathy to the Gill family. He will be missed.

Working with John at Highland Bank was a great experience. We kept in touch over the years after he left Highland Bank. When I think of John I fondly remember his sense of humor. John will be sorely missed.

I was fortunate to have worked with John on several bank projects over the years, and then developed a friendship from that. Our conversations covered the gambit of topics, from banking and accounting, to raising horses and other farm animals. He was very supportive and helpful to me during the past year in my new job position, for which I'm so grateful. Heaven is a bit brighter with John's entrance; my heart goes out to his entire family.

I worked with John at McGladrey in the mid-90's. He also was an instructor for the Becker CPA course, and I had the honor of being one of his students. John worked hard and treated everyone with respect and dignity. He was a leader professionally and personally and made an impact on everyone around him. A man of his word, a man of character. So sad to hear this news and my heart and prayers go out to the family.
