John Roderick Henson, Sr.

1936 - 2022

John Roderick Henson Sr. passed away on July 16, 2022. He was born in Campbelltown, Ohio on October 23, 1936. Preceded in death are his parents, John Rollo Henson and Florence Jean Broughton Henson, brother James Henson, sister Ruth Henson, and daughter Jill Trachsel.

Survived by his wife Helen Henson of Pleasanton, TX, son John Roderick Henson Jr of Pleasanton, TX, son Paul Henson of Bremen, IN, daughter Sheryl Piles of San Antonio, TX, son Darrell Henson of Midwest City, OK, daughter Cathie Reynolds of Piqua, OH, daughter Julie Sparks of Pickerington, OH, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, extended families, nieces and nephews.

His greatest joy was his family. He served in the Marine Corp for 3 years. He had many jobs including; ice cream route, Spudnuts delivery man, Montgomery Ward janitor, automobile mechanic, auto parts store associate, electrician, and pastor. Out of all of them he enjoyed pastoring and being an electrician the most. In his later life you could find him sitting in his chair at his desk waiting for someone to come in. He would enjoy talking with them, always reminding them to be honest and love one another as Jesus loved us.

He will be missed but is now reunited with his daughter Jill, in Heaven, who recently passed in October, 2021.
