For Jack
Some people leave their mark in grand ways, others in smaller, truer things—Sunday breakfasts shared, wood shaped by patient hands, a birdhouse mended, a step stool made just because it was needed.
Jack’s kindness traveled easily—
across a fence, up the walk,
to a pergola where summer drinks and easy laughter lived.
I did not know him long, but I knew him well enough to know the world is better for the care he gave it.
He will be missed,
and remembered with gratitude.
