John "Jack" Brandt entered into rest with his family by his side on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Beloved husband of Diane E. Brandt (nee Wegener); father of Mary (Larry) Heinemann, Patty (Bill) Warmbrodt, Elizabeth (Mike) Boyd, John (Amy) Brandt, and Jackie Brandt; grandfather of Matt, Holly, Rachel, Bea, Kayla, Chris, and Zac; great-grandfather of Bennett, Caroline, Mallory, Kendall, and Walker; brother Tom (Marianne) Brandt; dear uncle, cousin, and friend.
Jack is preceded in death by his siblings Jim Brandt, Ginger (Don) Sircy, Nancy King, and Bob (Doree) Brandt and grandson Nicholas.
Jack was born on December 9, 1936, to Clarence and Virginia Brandt. He spent his early years in Maplewood, Missouri before his family moved to Ballwin. Childhood summers were spent with his siblings along with numerous cousins at Lake Killarney in Iron County. He talked fondly of spending summer days swimming and fishing, with lots of card playing in the evenings. As a teenager, Jack helped his dad on his Pepsi route on Saturdays and summers. Eventually, Jack was officially employed by Pepsi Cola, first in the bottling plant before having his own sales route.
His sister Nancy’s card game invitation to her high school friend led to Jack meeting his future wife, Diane. Despite his dislike of dancing, which Diane loved, and her aversion to poker, Jack was able to woo Diane with his teasing sense of humor, strong work ethic, immaculate convertibles, and flair for being a sharp dresser.
They married on September 23, 1961. Together they raised five children, traveled across the country camping, and spent time with their large extended family. Devoted to each other for over 64 years of marriage, Jack and Diane shared a commitment to their church and community, love of family, pride in their children, and immense joy in their grandchildren and great grandchildren. During their retirement years, they developed an affection for coordinated brightly colored shirts, Dairy Cream blizzards and long rides through the countryside.

Wish we lived closer and then could have visited more. Love you brother. I am now the last of the Brandt siblings, a title I could do without. RIP
