John McKnight Jr.

1931 - 2015

John McKnight, Jr. 83 went to be with Jesus on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on May 21, 1931 to John W. McKnight, Sr. and Florence Caudle McKnight. II Corinthians 5:1 for we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Donald Gray McKnight, and two brothers, two sisters and grandson, Jeremy O'Neal.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sylvia St. John McKnight, daughter in law Wanda O'Neal, grandson, John O'Neal ( Nikki ), sister in law, Polly McKnight and many other relatives.
John was a member of Faith Church where he served as an usher as long as his health permitted. John retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, May 1, 2015 at Faith Church, 1078 Gumtree Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27107 with Rev. Frank Shumate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living and Forsyth Medical Center for all their care and kindness shown to John.
