John's Obituary

John Roger Pennington, Jr., 69, of North East, MD passed away suddenly Saturday, November 1, 2014.Mr. Pennington was born on June 7, 1945 in West Chester, PA. He was the son of the late Clara Poe and John Pennington, Sr. He was a graduate of Unionville High School, and just celebrated his 50th class reunion. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1971 and fought in the Vietnam War from 1966-1967. He retired from DuPont Stine Haskill in Newark, DE. He enjoyed gardening, antique and flea markets.Mr. Pennington is survived by his wife of 17 years, Vicki; his children Bonnie Manley of Quarryville, PA, John (Ana) Pennington of Grovetown, GA, Barry Pennington of New Berlin, NY; step-daughters Laura Hill of Hickory, NC, and Emily Hill of Elkton, MD; seven grandchildren; siblings, Wanda Marquess of Elkton, MD, Lorma Becker of Glen Moore, PA, Richard Pennington of West Chester, PA, James Pennington of Exton, PA, Mary Jane Vita of Bristol, CT, Barbara Patterson of Coatesville, PA, Marie Webb of Middletown, DE, Doris Wright of Middletown, DE and Nola Moore of Indian Mound, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Pennington.Services will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown, DE 19709.Family and friends may call Sunday Evening, November 9th from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association (americanheart.org), 5455 N.
