Mr. John Bradford Winningham, 75, husband of Faye Collins Winningham died Tuesday, August 27, 2019, his and Mrs. Faye’s 53rd wedding anniversary, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Winningham was born on September 22, 1943 in Columbia, S.C., the son of the late John and Margaret Stewart Winningham. He was a retired truck driver, having driven for more than 35 years. Mr. Winningham, who dearly loved the Lord, was a founding member of Grace Baptist Church of Horry County, where he served as deacon. He was also an avid fisherman.
Surviving Mr. Winningham in addition to his wife of the home are: 3 Daughters: Estelle (Skeeter) Elliott of Nichols, Susan (Kevin) Cook of Loris and Judie (Paul) Hooks of Mullins; his Grandchildren: Bradly Allen, Carolyn Cook, Brent Allen, Christine Hooks, April Woodward, Rebecca Hooks, Jessica Richardson and Matthew Elliott; his Great Grandchildren: Tanner Elliott, Eden Richardson, Gavin Richardson, Emily Rose Cook, Zane Allen, Ava Allen, Gabby Johnson and Gracie Johnson; his Sisters: Lila (James) Summerlyn of Gaston, Joan Dooley of Columbia, Margaret (Leroy) Yenny of Cayce and Jonnie Mae Ritterbandt of West Columbia; a Special Sister-in-Law and Brother-in-Law: Kay and Emmet DuBose; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 30, at Grace Baptist Church of Horry County, with Rev. Marcus Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Windy Nave, Charie Brown-Jordan, Rick Wiedman and the rest of the staff of Heartland Hospice for their love and care for Mr. Winningham during his illness.
The family will be meeting at Mr. Winningham’s home at 4250 Duford Rd., Nichols.
