Johnny Crawford, age 65, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024 in Tyler at Christus Trinity Mother Frances after a brave battle with cancer. Johnny was born December 26, 1958 in Jacksonville, Texas to J.D. and Hattie Whitley Crawford and was married to his wife and best friend, Gloria for 42 years. Johnny took the reins of running East Side Towing from his father in 1987 and has been the owner and operator ever since. He spent every day going to work and doing exactly what he loved.
Mr. Crawford is survived by wife Gloria Crawford of Palestine, children, John Crawford (Tabitha) of Palestine, Cheryl Crawford of Palestine, and his beloved little dog, Nacho. Johnny was preceded in death by father, J.D. Crawford, and mother Hattie Whitley Crawford.
Johnny’s wisdom, humor and loyalty to those he loved will forever be missed. Many friends and acquaintances were made through years of Johnny working and servicing his community in and around Anderson County.
Funeral services for Johnny Crawford will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, November 29, 2024 at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home in Palestine. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm prior to the service.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Mike Goodman, Brian Jones, Steven Sigman, Daniel Smith, James Pace and Kenneth May.
