Jose Orlando Carrasquillo, 72, of Lynn, MA, passed on January 9, 2026, peacefully and with his family by his side.
Jose was born in Manhattan, NY, to his parents Matilde Audinot and the late Jose Carrasquillo. After living in New York for some time, he relocated to Puerto Rico. He then moved to Connecticut before relocating to Lynn, MA, where he has been a resident since 2000. Before his passing, Jose was a part of the St. Stephen’s Tower community in Lynn.
Jose leaves behind his mother Matilde Audinot; his children Carmen Fernandez, Raquel Carrasquillo, Yahaira Santiago, Jose L. Carrasquillo, Stephanie Carrasquillo, and Juan Carrasquillo; his sister Maritza Alfonso; his 14 grandchildren Sasha Fernandez, Freddie Fernandez, Sicily Carrasquillo, Natasha Acosta, Heilie Acosta, Kaleisha Hite, Jocelyn Hite, Jose L. Carrasquillo Jr., Juan Carrasquillo Jr., Keila McGregor, Cloe Santiago, Carmelo Carrasquillo, Jaden McGregor, and Lily Carrasquillo; his great-granddaughter Jomily L. Burgos-Fernandez; his partner Alicia Acosta; his cousin, Blanca "Tata" Nieves, who was like a sister to him; as well as other family and friends.
Jose worked in security in Lynn and in Boston, and was a police officer while he was living in Puerto Rico. He has always been an avid NY Yankees fan. Chinese food was his favorite but he also loved cooking. Since his retirement, Jose enjoyed fishing, thrifting, and spending time with his partner, Alicia. These were some of his favorite things to do. He also loved to collect and trade electronics and any unique items he’d come across.
Calling Hours for Jose will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 3pm-6pm, at Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington Street in Lynn, MA. A Graveside Service will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date to be announced.
