Joseph Curran Obituary
Joseph Leo Curran, Sr., age 85, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional hospital in Salisbury, MD.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 14, 1937, to Francis Curran and Mary (Boyle) Curran.
Joe lived in Allentown for 23 years before retiring to Berlin, MD. He was an avid Notre Dame and Philadelphia Eagles football fan. He enjoyed traveling to new destinations with his wife and friends and spending time in his yard.
He is survived by his wife Dawn (Hancock) Curran, and children, Eileen Coulehan; M. Denise Bugay; Maureen Sitler; Joanne Minori; Joseph Curran Jr.; Kathleen Wetzel; and Bernadette Curran, and three stepchildren, Thomas Anuszewski; Michael Anuszewski; and Jill Anuszewski. He is also survived by his sister Mary Farrell. Joe was the proud grandfather of 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Frank Curran; Neil Curran; and Thomas Curran, his sisters, Catherine McCorkle and Rita Curran, and his first wife Eileen (Melley) Curran.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on April 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Ocean Pines, MD. Interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of the deceased to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Wilmington, via http://www.ccwilm.org.
