Joseph Lauderbaugh Obituary

Joseph Ray Lauderbaugh of Indianapolis passed away Thursday morning at home.  He was 47.

Joe worked at FedEx in Indianapolis doing inventory.  He liked camping, fishing, golf, drawing, painting, and woodworking.  He was a music enthusiast and avid movie lover.

Surviving family includes: daughter, Emma Marie Owens with husband, Hunter Owens and grandson, Benton Owens; daughter, Brenley Jo Lauderbaugh; son, Samuel David Lauderbaugh; parents, Louis L. Lauderbaugh and Norma (Knox) Lauderbaugh; two brothers, Mark L. Lauderbaugh and Matthew A. Lauderbaugh; two nieces, Cassidy Lauderbaugh and Hannah Lauderbaugh; two nephews, Austin Lauderbaugh and Zachary Freeman; along with aunts, uncles and cousins.  Joseph had a loving companion, Lisa Hostetler, that he felt very close to, and to her daughter Olivia and friend Chris.

Joseph’s three young adult children were the “apple of his eye” (heart).  His brothers, mom and dad were honorable to him, along with friends.  Joseph loved people and never had a bad speaking word of anyone.  Joseph had a healthy sense of humor and was interested in English idioms, putting meaning to what people used in phrases.

Putting God first, and studying His word, was an interest to him that he tried to make time for.  He was a believing Christian that valued his relationship with God Almighty and it showed through the love of his heart and words spoken.  He will be missed and remembered in how he lived his life in the Grace of Jesus Christ, now and forever, eternally!

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 PM Wednesday, October 2nd at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Avenue, Crawfordsville.  Services will begin at 6 PM, led by Pastor Kyle Strauser.  A graveside service is being planned for Saturday, Oct. 12 at Oak Hill Cemetery North.

Joe was one of a kind. He didn't meet a person he didn't become friends with. He was thoughtful and caring. Very funny too. I will miss working with him as will the rest of our team. May all the fond memories of his light and laughter help comfort you all in this time of sorrow. So very sorry for your loss

I was saddened to learn of Joe's passing Joe. I remember Joe, and his brothers, as positive and caring young men. He was mindful of his responsibilities and was respected by his peers. I see that he has a large family who will miss him greatly. He seemed to be a talented, loving, man. Your loss is great but the positive impact he had on his family was greater. Rest in peace, Joe.

I will miss our conversation, Joe was such a good human. I wish we had more Joe's in the world, it would be a much better place. Joe will be missed by so many, work will never be the same without him. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Dennis & Dawn Cornell
