The colonel was one of the best men I ever knew. He was a role model for thousands of young men and women. He gave me the opportunity to attend the Marine Corps Educator Boot Camp some years ago. Dear Col. Nardo, your walk in life has been inspirational to so many adults, young adults, teenagers that to name them all would stretch from this page to the Heaven that you currently reside in with Catherine. A man's legacy isn't measured by the wealth her achieves or the professional milestone he accomplishes in his brief time here, but rather by the lives he touches and helps mold, the infectious inspiration that he radiates that transforms those lives to do good. To do good is what we are called to do for each other as friends and family, in call to duty and honor to country. Your legacy is secured and serves as an example to us all. When my son Anthony chose Oviedo High School as the school he wanted to attend, the decision was based on the ROTC program you had created. That choice was instrumental in shaping Anthony's life and his decision to attend the Norwich University and enter the Navy where he currently proudly serves. As a proud father, I thank you for helping to mold and forge my son's life. We mourn your passing, but as your brother in CHRIST I rejoice and am comforted that Heaven and the promise of Eternal life is your current assignment. Give my best to Catherine, and don't be too tough on those new cadets that make it to the pearly gates, chances are they took a few pages from your life's story book as a guide to gain access. Many blessings to your loved ones in their moment of sadness, my the Peace and Comfort that GOD provides through HIS Amazing Grace be with them. Your friend and grateful father.
