A private service is scheduled for Saturday, March 25 at St. David Catholic Church, 5617 St. Claude Ave., at 10am. Professional Arrangements entrusted to Majestic Mortuary (504)523-5872.

Joe was my godfather. I will always remember his big smile as we took a photo at home before he escorted me to an event at my school. Rest in peace.

I'm sorry to hear of Mr. Slater's passing. We worked together at HANO for many years. He was ALWAYS courteous, respectful, smiling and considerate. No matter what manner of chaos or confusion was happening around him, he always found the humor in the situation and was willing to share his lightheartedness.
Now, he has moved on to a bigger and better life. I know he is happy and that makes me happy for him. I hope this thought brings comfort to his loved ones.
