Josephine Berry Obituary
Mrs. Josephine G. Berry transitioned peacefully to be with the Lord on February 18, 2026. Born to the late Ira and Annie Belle Grammer on November 1, 1940, Josephine was a spunky, courageous woman with a lot of personality.
She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed dancing, singing, attending church, and shopping. She had a great love for music, food, cooking, World Wrestling Entertainment, reality TV court shows, Tyler Perry plays, and movies.
Josephine was a beloved mother of eight children, four boys and four girls. Josephine was a strong-willed, amusing, and resilient woman who defied many odds and overcame many obstacles. She would always say, “I gotta keep on rolling.”
Josephine has been reunited in heaven with daughters, Virginia and Annie Mae Berry; son, Edward Berry, Jr.; and granddaughter, Alesha Nicole Berry.
Josephine leaves to forever cherish her memory: two daughters, Denise Mason (Tyrone) and Ann Killingbeck; three sons, Eddie Berry, Tyrone Berry, and Billy Mason; one brother, Raymond Grammer; a host of loving grandchildren, an abundance of great-grand babies, nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 27, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA. The interment to follow at Mount Sinai Community Cemetery.
