Josephine A. Marinez

1959 - 2025

Josephine A. Marinez 65, a Lifelong resident of Lordsburg, New Mexico entered eternal life on June 17, 2025, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. 

Josephine was born on September 11, 1959, in Lordsburg, New Mexico to Manuel and Soila Aguilera. She graduated from Lordsburg High School in 1978 and resided in Lordsburg most of her life. While residing in Lordsburg she worked at McDonald’s, The Lordsburg Greyhound, Days Inn of Lordsburg, La Escuelita Head Start, and a Van Driver for the Lordsburg Railroad. In her free time Josephine enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and making countless phones calls to her children who she loved and cared for endlessly. She loved to have visits with her family and friends and having conversations for hours with joy. She had a big passion for people, Loving and Caring for all with her Big Heart.

Josephine will be dearly missed by her 3 children   Reuben (Anabel) Marinez, Christoper C. Marinez, Jennifer Tagle Romero, her sister Jenny E. Aguilera, Brothers David Aguilera, Steve ((Eva) Aguilera, 8 Grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. She touched the lives of so many and will be remembered by her kindness, compassion and giving soul.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Soila Aguilera and her brother Gilbert Aguilera. 

A Prayer vigil will be on Saturday, July 12, 2025, starting at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 416 East 2nd Street, Lordsburg, NM. A funeral mass will begin at 11am. 

In Lieu of flowers the family kindly requests for any donation to be made through Baca’s Funeral Chapel in Las Cruces or The Cottage House in Lordsburg. In Memory of Josephine A. Marinez. Inurnment will be at Shakespeare Cemetery.

Josephine may have left this world, but her love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her most. Her imprint will stay in the hearts of all who knew her forever.
