Joshua Wendeln Obituary
Joshua R. Wendeln, age 32, of St. Marys, Ohio, died on Sunday, March 9, 2025 in Minster. He was born on July 16, 1992 in St. Marys, OH to the late Thomas & Roseann (Dirksen) Wendeln. His father preceded him in death on April 6, 2021 and his mother survives in Minster. He is survived by his brothers Ben Wendeln, Celina, Ohio, Grant Wendeln, Minster, Ohio, sister Leanne Wendeln, Minster, Ohio and niece Emily. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents Eugene & Josephine (Fullenkamp) Dirksen and Joseph & Marie (Chilcoat) Wendeln. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Egypt and was a graduate of Minster High School in 2011 and University of Cincinnati in 2017. He was a member of the Actuary Society and enjoyed all sports and visiting the city of Cincinnati. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 AM Saturday, March 15, 2025 at St. Augustine Church, Minster with burial to follow in St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 4 to 7 PM and on Saturday March 15 from 8:30 to 9:00 AM., In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for mental health awareness. Josh was a great friend of mine that I had the privilege of living with for 2 years. Josh was one of the most authentic and genuine people that I came to know. He was always there to listen deeply and cared about others just as deeply. He helped me thru some pretty tough times and I forever thankful that. May you rest in peace Buddy. You impacted others more than you’ll ever know.

You always knew when Josh walked into a room - his energy and personality could always make people laugh. Josh was a huge fan of the NBA and was always ready to settle the discussion of why Kobe was better than LeBron. Prayers to those who deeply cared him and wanted him to succeed.

I hung out with Josh at UC and he was always really fun to be around and made everyone around him happier and in a better mood. I'm sorry for the loss.
