Funeral services for Jovita Gomez, 79, of Lamesa will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Inspirational service will be held Friday, March 5, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home Chapel.

Jovita passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in Lamesa, Texas. She was born March 29, 1941 in Cotulla, Texas to Florentino Valdez and Thomasa Jimenez. She married Jesus Hernandez December 18, 1965. They were married 35 years. She then married Frank Gomez.

Jovita is survived by her children, Adam Hernandez (Marisol) of Waco, Jesus Hernandez of Vernon, Idolina Lumbreras (Ramiro) of Lamesa, Felipe Hernandez of Lamesa, Anna Santoy (Jessie) of Austin, Sylvia Alvarez of Lamesa, Isidro Hernandez of Lamesa, Lina Alvarez( Ruben) of Lamesa, Paul Hernandez (Maribel) of Lamesa, Sally Linaras (Miguel) of Austin, Sammy Hernandez ( Effie) of Lamesa, David Hernandez of Austin, Elizabeth Long (Jim) of Carrizo Springs and Esteban Hernandez of Lamea; ten siblings; sixty grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
