Judy Reynolds Obituary

A funeral service for Judy G. “Granny” Reynolds, 81, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m., in the Chapel.

Judy was born on July 30, 1944, in Bunkie, Louisiana to William Wilson Goleman and Callie Victoria Kirkpatrick Goleman and passed away on March 23, 2026, in Marshall, Texas.

She loved spending time with her sister and doing things together. She always kept very good order and never stopped cleaning. She was a hard worker and took care of everyone. She did not like to be in the kitchen cooking. She enjoyed going to town. She loved trains and went to many train shows. She loved to travel, but only when it was cool because she loved cabins and fireplaces. She worked a full-time job as well as being a caregiver for her husband. She only wanted to be called Judy and as she got older, Miss Judy, but not Mrs. Reynolds because Mrs. Reynolds lived in Pittsburg Texas and that was her mother-in-law. She loved her grandmother’s berry cobbler and butter beans. You were always welcome in her home, but she would not serve you and you could just help yourself. She was very kind but not a social butterfly. She focused on work throughout the years. If you were her friend, you were her friend for life. Most of all she doted on her two grandsons and great grandson and loved her family dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Callie Goleman; her husband, Pat Reynolds; sister, Ruth St. Romain; brother, Ray Goleman and sister-in-law, Midge Reynolds.

She is survived by daughter, Tonda Sammons; grandchildren, Todd Sammons and Travis Sammons and wife, Suzanne; great grandson, Jacob Sammons; sister-in-law, Martile Goleman and brother-in-law, Julian Reynolds along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

We would also like to thank her care givers, Dr. Y. Pham, Pharmacist David Palmer, Christus Good Shepherd, Marshall and Longview, Marshall Home Health and Hospice Plus Nurse, Dara Thurman. Sincerely, Tonda Sammons (her daughter).

We are so sorry to hear about Aunt Judy’s passing! Tonda we love you so very much and we are praying for you and your boys! Keep close to your heart the beautiful happy memories you have of time spent with your mama. Remember, grief is a very personal thing and never allow anyone to tell you to “get over it”. It takes as long as it takes to learn to live without the physical presence of your mama! You are very much in our prayers and I am only a phone call away when you need me! Judy is greatly missed!!!!
