Julia Ann Letavec Obituary


Julia Ann Letavec, 94, of New Eagle, died Friday, June 1, 2018 in Dunlevy Manor. She was born June 22, 1923 in Elrama, the daughter of Steve and Mary Blasko Warchola.
During World War II, Julia traveled to Baltimore, Maryland where she worked in an airplane factory and learned how to rivet and weld. For many years, she was a salesperson at the Working Man Clothing Store in Monongahela. Julia loved polka music and playing bingo. The family would like to especially thank Viaquest Hospice, the staff at Granny Nannies, Dunlevy Manor and her personal caregivers for the loving care that they gave to her.
She is survived by her son, Larry Letavec and spouse Jeff Groff of Philadelphia; brother, Robert Warchola of Frederick, MD; numerous nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Letavec who died February 23, 2006; three brothers, John "Jake", Michael and Steve Warchola; and six sisters, Ann Dyer, Mary Luker, Bertha Miscik, Laura Pucell, Catherine Moscato and Betty Caulkett.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 W. Main Street, Monongahela, where funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Andrew Broucher officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Viaquest Hospice, 510 Main Street, Irwin, PA 15642.
