Julius H Toodle

1952 - 2025

Julius H. Toodle, also known as "Jay’ and “Touche” was born in Selma, Alabama, to parents Alice Toodle, and Finis Harris, step-father Thomas Toodle. He graduated from A.H. Parker High School, attended Lawson Community College, received an associate's degree and graduated with a bachelor’s in liberal arts. He served in the U.S. Navy and received the National Defense Service Medal in 1973.

In 1973, Julius married Shirley Simmons, and they had a handsome son, Julius Toodle Jr. He later married Ethel Toodle in, 1981, and had three beautiful daughters, Jessica Toodle, Jennifer Toodle, and Alicia Conner. A good life of service and kindness ended on March 18, 2025.

Julius was preceded in death by his former wife, Ethel Toodle; his fathers, Finis Harris and Thomas Toodle; his brothers, James "Buddy" Toodle
and Fredrick Harris; and his nephews, Dan "Ronnie" Gamble Jr. and John "Little John" Toodle, along with three great-nephews.

He leaves to continue his legacy his mother, Alice Toodle; step mother Julia Harris; his son, Julius Jr. Toodle (mother Shirley); his daughters, Jessica Toodle, Jennifer Toodle, and Alicia Connor (Michael); his grandchildren, Sirenity, Julius III, Samari, Julio, Jeremiah, Jasmine, Jarren, Ja’Niyah, and Kai’Re; his brothers, Jerald Toodle and John Toodle (Jill); his sisters, Essence Gamble (Dan), Jean Johnson, Bessie Hitchcock, and Martha Voltz; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
