Karen Jane Davis, 60, Abbs Valley, VA, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at her home. Born December 19, 1959 in Bluefield, WV, Karen was a daughter of the late Otis and Geraldine Dillon Howell. She was a life-long resident of Abbs Valley, a member of the Church of God, and was retired from St. Luke’s Hospital where she worked in Accounts Payable. Karen was the strongest, most loving and selfless wife and mother. Throughout her entire battle with cancer, she never let it interfere with caring for her family. Karen made endless sacrifices for her husband and son. She always made sure neither of them ever wanted for anything, even when it meant her going without. Karen was also extremely proud of where she came from. She carried the Howell name like a badge of honor. She loved her brothers and sisters until her last breath, and she always made sure they knew it. When Karen wasn’t making sure everyone in the family was taken care of, she loved going to the beach. She always searched for sea shells and sharks teeth. Karen will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Those left to Cherish Karen’s memory are her husband, Philip Lee Davis; son, Brandon Lee Davis and wife, Krystal of Bluefield, WV; three brothers, Kenneth Robert Howell, Ray Howell, and Harold Howell; two sisters, Janet Howell, and Juanita Dickens; and three grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 PM Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA where Brandon Davis, Robert Howell, Ray Howell, Harold Howell, and Cody Howell will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.cravens-shires.com. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Davis family.

Karen was the most precious loving cousin, friend, and hero I ever knew, I will miss her forever, she never complained or was sad about her cancer. Like you said , she always thought of others. I love all of you and wish I could come but my daughter isn’t able to bring me. But you will be in my prayers. All my love, Dinah
