Karen Young, age 85 passed away on February 4th in Springfield Mo after a short illness.
Karen was born to George and Maxine (Neely) Lane, on April 12th 1940, in Council Bluffs, IA. On September 21st, 1958, Karen married the love of her life, John Young in Council Bluffs, IA.
Karen was a devoted mother and a dedicated restaurateur, known for her warm spirit and the way she cared for everyone, especially family. Whether through a home-cooked meal or kind word. She made people feel welcomed and valued.
Karen was of Christian faith and carried the love of Jesus her whole life, she never gave up hope that faith would guide her and everyone she loved.
She had a special gift for sewing and knitting, and she lovingly created pieces for nearly everyone she knew. Her handmade items were more than just crafts-they were expressions of her kindness and the joy she found in giving to others.
Karen will be remembered for her generous heart, her strong work ethic, and the many lives she touched through both her church and extended family.
She is survived by her sons Danny and his wife Stacy of El Dorado AR, Randy of Forsyth, MO and Ricky and his wife Sissy, of Forsyth, MO. Also, her daughters: Mindy and her husband, Bruce of Liberty, MO, Vicki and her husband Larry of Reeds Spring, MO, and Shelly and her husband Tim of Stockton, Mo. 19 Grandkids and many great grandkids.
Karen is preceded in death by parents George and Maxine, her brother George, her husband John, and her granddaughter Carissa.
A service to celebrate her devoted life to family, her faith and friends will be held 2:00 pm on March 14, at Hope Fellowship Church 19459 MO-413. Private interment for family only, will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, Karen wished donations to be made to Hope Fellowship, Church19459 MO-413, Branson West and/or Forsyth Christian Church 13464 US-160 Forsyth MO. 65653

David and I would like her family to know how special Karen was to use. She always greeted us at church with a smile, warm hug and church bulletin. She was always so sweet and happy to be there. Karen is truly missed her but so warmly greeted in heaven. We looked forward to sharing eternity with her. Love David and Diane Eslick

Loved this lady as soon as we met when she came to Hope Fellowship Church. She always had a hug & a smile for everyone. Wes & I will miss her very much. Our prayers for her family & her so many friends.
