Kathryn Marie Albert, the daughter of Earl and Janice (Moir) Albert, was born on August 20, 1961, in Sioux City, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at the Seney Methodist Church. She attended school in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1979. She attended Le Mars Beauty College and graduated in 1980 as a licensed cosmetologist. She then attended South Dakota State University for one year and finished her college work at Westmar in Le Mars, graduating in 1984 with a degree in home economics.
Kathryn began her career at Harker’s Distribution and later worked for Tyson Foods in Le Mars. In 1993, she joined Wells Dairy in the milk production facility office, where she remained through the company’s transitions to Dean Foods and later Kemps. She dedicated 33 years to her role as an office clerk with Wells, Deans, and Kemps. Of all the roles she held in life, her most cherished was being a mother to Christopher and Mary.
Kathryn’s life was deeply rooted in her faith and her community. A lifelong member of the Seney Methodist Church, she spent countless hours serving on boards and committees, offering her time wherever it was needed. She also shared her compassion with the Christian Needs Center in Le Mars, where she once served on the board.
Music was woven through Kathryn’s life from an early age. She played the piano, clarinet, viola, and organ, and she loved to sing. In high school, she filled her days with orchestra, band, and choir, carrying that love of music with her throughout her life.
Her childhood was shaped by 4‑H, where she took on leadership roles, including serving as president of the Plymouth County 4‑H Council. Those early experiences nurtured her love of learning and creating. She found joy in the simple, steady rhythms of cooking, baking, and gardening, and she had a special fondness for embroidery, especially cross‑stitch. Sewing and crafting were more than hobbies for Kathryn; they were expressions of care, patience, and creativity.
Above all, Kathryn’s heart belonged to her family. Her greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother, and she cherished every moment spent with the people she loved most.
Survivors include a son, Christopher (Tamera) Albert of Sioux City, IA, and their children, Seth, Ian, Eleanora, and Claire; a daughter, Mary Albert (Jason Callenius) of Le Mars, IA, and her son, Brandon; her parents, Earl and Janice Albert of Le Mars, IA; her siblings, Karen Albert (Bill Beach) and Steven Albert (Joni Johannsen); nephew and nieces, Michael (Shelby) Jurrens, Kristin Anthony, and Hannah Albert; aunts, M. Janice Albert and Audra Moir, both of Le Mars, IA; and several cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Glenn and Evelyn Moir; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Grace Albert; aunt and uncles, Harold Albert, Helen (Herman) Schulz, and Dick Moir; and a cousin, Michael Moir.

Holding you close in prayer as you endure these next days and weeks without your loved one. Kathy and I shared many good times together as friends and living together during college. She would bring me to the farm with her to see the baby kittens, we would play our music too loud in the apartment and get a few knocks on the door to turn it down. I learned many life lessons from her that I will treasure forever. Until we meet again, my friend.
