Kay Parkinson

1943 - 2026

Elisa Kay Quinn Parkinson at 82 years of age, of Navasota, went to be with the Lord, Friday morning, January 30, 2026, at CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.

Funeral services will take place 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 5th, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 414 E. McAlpine, in Navasota with Rev. Deborah (Debbie) Daegle officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Haug, Zac Haug, Connor Parkinson, Randy Hemann, John Pool and Cary Hackler.

Kay was born in 1943 on Christmas Eve in Navasota, to Malcolm and Louise McCown Quinn.  She attended Navasota High School where she was voted most beautiful and the friendliest, by her peers. Kay attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock before returning to Navasota to work at her fathers store, Malcolm Quinn Furniture.  She later moved to Houston and married in September of 1968. Robby, her only child was born in February of 1970. Longing for Navasota, she returned in 1982 and began her career with Trinity Industries. There she made life long friends with her co-workers and customers. Kay was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Episcopal church.   

Kay's passion was nature! She loved birds, flowers and butterflies, but more importantly she loved "her people".  She bestowed her love by being there for anything and everything, all the time, no matter the size! Each opportunity was considered important to her.  Kay was always an intricate and irreplaceable part in the lives of those she loved. She was a constant positive contributor in each life within her world.  Kay spoke sincerely and honestly but always from a place of love. When you were in Kay's presence you knew you were the most important person in the world to her! Kay was there for you in any circumstance or situation,as forever cheerleader, lifting you up and staying close. Everyone has that special someone in their life that knows when to give advice and when to offer needed silence and a warm hug. This was Kay to many, righting a ship at sea during turbulent times and charting a course for smooth water! 

Kay was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Malcolm "Bud" Quinn.  Survivors include her son, Robby Parkinson and wife Nikki, her two grandchildren, Connor and Lela Parkinson; a sister, Sandra Hansen; nephews West Hansen and Quinn Hansen, nieces Lisa Haug and Suzanne Court along with their extended families and a great number of friends.

The family would like to exted a special "thank you" to Malinda Dobijanski, Pat Lopez and Betty Walkoviak for all of the care the provided to Kay in her final few years.
