Keith Crouch Obituary

Keith Kevin Crouch, the son of Ronald and Ruth Crouch, was born on October 16, 1963, in Iowa City, Iowa. Keith passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of April 30, 2017 at his home of 25 years in Deloit, Iowa at the age of 53 years, 6 months and 14 days.
Keith moved often throughout his childhood, before his family settled in Denison, Iowa where Keith attended school and graduated from Denison High School in 1982.
On June 8, 1984, Keith was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Brenda Kelly. Together they were blessed with 4 children: Rebecca, Andrea, Melissa and Nicholas. Troughout the years, Keith worked at the Dubuque Packing Plant until its closing before moving on to work at Farmland Foods in Denison, Iowa, where he worked for 25 years. When he wasn’t working at Farmland he could be found in his garage working on friends or family’s vehicles to make extra money for his family. Keith left Farmland Foods in 2014, something he dreamed of doing. The past 20 years Keith had been in the real estate field, buying, fixing, and selling houses.
Keith enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He recently helped his children with installing dishwashers, hauling rock, and roofing a house. He bought a golf cart for his grandkids to enjoy, always joking “that poor golf cart” whenever they left the driveway on it because the wheels never stopped turning. In the summer months Keith could be found at his trailer in Lake View playing bags and in his own words “starting a pile” with his friends and family. He enjoyed driving the boat, pulling his family on the tube, giving them the “treatment”, besides his fear of water. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle on Sunday afternoons, recently taking a trip with friends to eastern Iowa. Keith had a love for his car collection, his most prized possessions being his ’71 GTO, ’69 Camaro, and ‘73 Monte Carlo. Brenda joked he loved those cars more than her. He will always be remembered for his gift of “gab”, being able to talk to anyone and always being able to find a great deal on anything. His son-in-law, Koda, joked Keith could turn a “turd” into a gold bar. Keith had many, many friends and was always willing to help anyone in need. He basically was a workaholic, busy 24/7. If he wasn’t working on one of his many houses he could be found at home, working in his garage or on his computer on EBay or Craigslist, looking for a good deal and watching his favorite Westerns. He was never far away from on ice cold Mountain Dew.
Keith was preceeded in death by his father, Ronald Crouch, his niece Rachel Neddermeyer, his mother-in-law, Sue Kelly, aunts, uncles and grandparents.
Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife of 33 years, Brenda Crouch of Deloit, Iowa; four children: Rebecca Crouch of Logan, Iowa, Andrea (Kevin) Beam of Manilla, Iowa, Melissa (Koda) Jensen of Kiron, Iowa, Nicholas Crouch and fiancé Sydney Myer of Deloit, Iowa; four grandchildren: Matthew, Keira, Kavin and Ryker and was expecting a 5th grandchild in September; mother, Ruth Crouch of Manilla, Iowa; sister, Shirley (Jerry) Morgan of Denison, Iowa; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Pfannebecker Funeral Home, Denison, Iowa, with Rev. Jan Burnett officiating. Recorded selections included “Daddy’s Hands”, “Please Remember Me”, “Just to Hear You Say You Love Me”, “You Should Be Here”, and “My Old Man”. Honorary Pallbearers were John Matlage, Joe Owen, Troy Davis, Al Stevens, Richard Blume, Charlie Gotto, Mike Marth, Bob Wulf, Matthew Lapel, Ryker Jensen, Keira Beam, and Kavin Beam. Following the service the family invited everyone to join them at Deloit Community Hall for fellowship and a luncheon provided by Lutheran Ladies Aid. The Pfannebecker Funeral Home, www.pfannebecker.com, Denison, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements where a visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017.
